Prospect Park
95 Prospect Park West
Brooklyn, NY 11215
(718) 965-8951

Prospect Park is the Central Park of Brooklyn; in fact it was designed by landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who designed Manhattan's Central Park. This 526 acre oasis in the middle of the city is divided into three areas:
  • 90-acre meadow on the west side
  • natural forest in the center
  • 60-acre lake on the east side

Here you'll find a change of environment and place to rest away from the hustle and bustle of one of the world's greatest cities. Here you'll see the blending of the many ethnic groups that form Brooklyn, one of the finest examples of ethnic/social melting pots in the world.

Host to hundreds of events annually, including concerts, sporting events, performing arts, festivals, and tours, Prospect Park's attractions include the:
  • Bandshell
  • Boathouse located on the Lullwater
  • Carousel
  • Kate Wollman Center and Rink
  • Lefferts Homestead Historic House Children's Museum
  • Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza
  • Nethermead
  • Picnic House (overlooking Long Meadow)
  • Playgrounds (5)
