Flat Iron Building
175 Fifth Avenue at Broadway and 23rd Street
New York NY
212-477-0947

Originally named the Fuller Building after the construction company that owned it, this 21-story building by Chicago architect David Burnham was the tallest in the world when it was completed in 1902 and is one of New York City's first skyscrapers. Though popular belief gives the Flat Iron Building the honor of being the first in the city to have a steel frame, there were actually many buildings so constructed in New York by the dawn of the 20th Century.
