Robinsonville-Tunica
|
| There's
Las Vegas in the West and Atlantic City in the East; and then there's
Tunica, the third largest gaming destination in the USA. Although, once
upon a time, all gaming operations in Mississippi were required to be
afloat (on water, that is) the rules were changed and now there are the
casinos of Robinsonville-Tunica: 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and
no-limit wagering!
While you are poking around in the casinos you might take a few moments to visit the Bluesville Museum and the Delta Blues Museum in nearby Clarksdale. After all, Mississippi is where the Blues were born. In fact, if Blues are in your blood, stop in one of the Blues juke joints where the Blues are still very much the contemporary venue. |
These
aren't just Casinos in the Las Vegas/Atlantic city sense; here you'll also
find full-fledged resorts offering all the amenities like world-class golf
courses. The
Terrace Hotel at Harrah's Tunica,
for example, is really three hotels in one with a total of almost 1,400
rooms. Besides the Hale Irwin championship golf course, they have a fully
equipped and staffed trap and skeet center. Of course they have the
entertainment lounge (Las Vegas style) with top, live entertainment.
If you're looking for something quieter and more laid back, there's the Sheraton Casino and Hotel in Robinsonville. Its luxuriant appointments, like the 19-foot chandelier surrounded by cascading fountains, assure a stay you'll not forget. |
